Daddy's Poem

This poem might be really sad but it is heart warming to all those happy Dad's.
I got this of one of my best friend's on hotmail and it is relly good!

Daddy's Poem

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
and she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone

But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called
a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
as seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
for a man who wasn't there.

'Where's her daddy at?'
she heard a boy call out.
'She probably doesn't have one,'
another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
she heard a daddy say,
'Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day.'

The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
came words incredibly unique.

'My Daddy couldn't be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
and how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone.

'Cause my daddy's always with me,
even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he'll forever be in my heart'.

With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.

'I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
but heaven's just too far.

You see he was a policeman
and died just this past year
When airplanes hit the towers
and taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away.'
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,
she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.

'I know you're with me Daddy,'
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this to the people you'll never forget, and
remember to send it also to the person that sent
it to you. It's a short message to let them know
that you'll never forget them.

If you don't send it to anyone, it means you're
in a hurry and that you've forgotten your
friends.

Take the time...to live and love!

Meeting my new Teacher

Hi everyone today I met my new teacher Mr Lovegrow he really cool and he said he will let us blog next year how cool is that .
Good thing is that this year there was only one year 6 class and next year we are all going to be togther but we are going to have a new sudent in our class and he is called luscus and I can't wait to meet him next year.
We are going to have lots of fun next year.

Last Day Of School

Yesterday was the last day of school and it was very upsetting for the year seven girl's.
Everyone was crying even some girl's in our class but I don't blame them it was upsetting for everyone.
My sister Alexis was leaving the school aswell and going of to high school next year.
But I am pretty sure that they are a bit excited.
Also yesterday my class did Secret Santa and Mrs J said I could be Santa and hand out everyone's present.
After everyone left the school ground's the year seven's, my brother Dominic and I went to the Manly Pool and we all had a blast swimming around with the tube's and tipping everyone over and it was some mush fun.

This is what mum mum looked like. And this is what I looked like.
FUNNY

Today I had to write a memory from my childhood and I decided I am going to write about when I got lost at Carindale.

One day we went to Carindale.

We were going shopping for some clothes, and we went to go look in Myer.

Of course I stayed in Myer while my mum left not knowing I was still in there.

So she called security and said I can't find my daughter.

And every shop was looking for me.

My mum looked in the car park but she couldn't find me.

So she looked in Myer and she saw me with three or four swim suits that weren't even my size and my mum gave me a really big hug.

My mum thinks that, that day was the most stressful day of her life but I think it was hilarious.

Today Mrs J asked us to write an orientation but she wanted us to use circumstance's to make the story more interesting.

This is my orientation.

It all began in England 1999 when my Mother died of cancer.

I was five when she died and an only child which made harder.

My Dad asked my Aunt Jess to stay with us after Mothers Funeral.

That's my orientation but I do have the rest of my stroy in my writing folder.

Camp Minjerribah

This camp is at the beach so we could go surfing.

Today is Melbourne Cup Day and we made ties and jackets for today.

This is my tie.

My tie has the race horse I am going for, the thing is we didn't get to choses we had to pull it out of a hat and I got to go first.

The Lunar Eclipse

Tonight is the Lunar Eclipse.

It happens every couple of years .

It is where the moon goes blood red.

Tonight it is happening and it is really exciting.

It starts at 6:51 so get out your cameras and take some photos I am sure it will be excellent.

To make it better if you find binoculars or a telescope it will be the experience of your life.

Tomorrow I will put on some photos from tonight.

1000 Paper Cranes

A couple of people in year 6 are making 1000 paper cranes.

The people in voled are Alice, Holly, Tegan, Brigdet, Taylor, and me.

We want to send the paper cranes to Japan and put them under the statue of Sadako.

We have already made over 100 paper cranes and hope we can make a 1000.

There is a story about Sadako but it is really sad.

If you do read it, it tells you how the people of Hiroshima suffered from the atomic bomb and how Sadako died ten years after the bomb was drop.

People all over the world send paper cranes to Japan and put them under the statue of Sadako so all the children who died when the atomic bomb was drop would get a special wish.

The person how drop the bomb committed suicide soon after the atomic bomb was drop because he couldn't live with what he had done to all the people in Hiroshima.

If you go to Hiroshima today you would see a block of land that was right under the atomic bomb when it was drop and on the cement you can see the outlines of the people in ashes who were right underneath the bomb and the can not come of which is really interesting.

I am reading My Secert Unicorn a Special Friend by Linda Chapman.

In the last book I read Lauren finally found out that Twilight was a unicorn and now this book is really intersting because they start going on adventures.

And this is a bit of blurb.

Mrs J said to us today that there is a Competition from Google and we get to make drawings which I think will be really

fun.

The design is going to be about Australia Day!

The Mysterious Box

Mrs J gave us a story of the orientation of the Mysterious box and then we had to make up our own ending.
This is the orientation.
It all began when Megan and David were walking home from their Grandma's.
They knew they shouldn't have,but they took a short cut through Swallowdale Wood's.
It was beginning to get dark.
An owl hooted,and the sound echoed all around them.
Oh,I'm scared,'' whispered David,''I want to get home quickly.''
"Come on then,''said Megan, ''let's hurry.''
So the two children hurried down the path,the leaves crunching beneath their feet.
''Wait, what was that.''
It was a dark box,a large box.
The two children bent forward and began two lift open the box...
And now for the ending.
But they were stop by a noise they didn't what it was it felt as if someone was following them.
They trued back to the box and began to lift it open,they put the lid on the floor.
They looked inside it was,it was nothing wait it was different colours spinning round and round.
Why are they there what are they doing.
the noise was getting loured and loured.
they trued back to the box it was gone where did it go.
They started hearing foot step's they tured around closed there eyes and scream.
They woke up,and they were at home it was as if it was a dream!

Amy The Amethyst fairy

This book is about two girls named Rachel and Kristy.

They try to help the jewel fairy's get they gems back from the evil jack frost.

He steals the fairy's gems so they won't have any powers left in their wands.

But he starts to see that the gems are like sunshine so his ice castle starts to melt and he sent the gems out to the human world with his goblins to guard them.

But Kristy and Rachel never give up and so they always win.

Rachel and Kristy met each other on a boat heading to a little island and when they got of the boat the found out that they lived right next to each other.

And that's how they became best friends.

The first time they saw a fairy was when they went exploring and at the end of the rainbow the found a pot which had ruby the red fairy underneath the pot and that's where their adventure's begin.

My Secret Unicorn

I am reading my Secret Unicorn which is a really good book and it is By Linda Chapman.

I like this book because it is about unicorns, and I love unicorns, magical fairy tales and mythical creatures.

I like the blurb because it tells you about the book.

And this is it.

Dragonkeeper

Every day after first break,we sit down at our desk and Mrs J reads Dragonkeeper to us which is by Carole Wilkinson.
It is about a dragon called Danzi and a little girl called Ping.
Ping lived in Huangling keeping her master happy.
Then came along Danzi and took Ping away from Huangling her home.
When Danzi took Ping ,Ping could hear voices from her mind it was the Dragon and she realized that he could only talk to her by mind.
The dragon was carrying a strange stone and then they landed but they could only shelter there for about two days.
The Dragon said they haved to go to the ocean.
But the evil Dragon hunter was after them following their every move.

But is all we have read so far and I can't wait to hear the end of the book.

Antarctica

During reading block
I found out that Scientist and Explorers go to Antarctica to test their survival skills.

But unfortunately many failed and died.
98% is covered by snow.
I also found out that more than 70% of the world's fresh water is on Antarctica.
I found it interesting that millions of years ago India,Antarctica,Australia,South America,and Africa were joined together in a land mass and it was called Gondwana.
And then Africa and India began to split and started moving where they are now.
Australia broke away and then followed by South America.
Scientist know that Gondwana existed because plants and animals were found on Antarctica that were from other countries.
I also found it interesting that Dinosaurs such as leaellyrasura have been found in many countries including Antarctica.

One Metre

Today Mrs J

gave us a challenge we had to put a metre on an A4 piece of paper.

At first I had know idea how to do it but then I realise that we didn't have to put it as one strait line we could do 10 that was joined together.

So I did 10 ten cm lines and joined it all together.

but then Mrs J said we had to tell her that it was a metre but we couldn't use a ruler to show her.

So we wrote how long they were on the line and did them as a sum.

I did 10 cm times 10 and it made 100 cm which is a metre.

And it was very different way of learning I think.
